Amal Shady, CBCP, MBCI, ISO 22301 Senior Lead Implementer

Amal Shady, the Founder, and President has over two decades of experience in operational resilience and has seen firsthand the evolution of Continuity of Operations. She has worked in multiple global firms, overseeing the development, implementation, and enhancement of Business Continuity Management Systems at Citigroup, Bloomberg, Reed Elsevier (parent company to LexisNexis), and McGraw Hill. She sits on the Board of the Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP) NYC Metro Chapter, as Program Director.

Though her career has mostly been focused within the private sector, Amal has worked closely with Law Enforcement at the local and national level. She is well versed in the National Incident Management System (NIMS), which was created in the aftermath of the 9/11 Terrorist Attack to ensure that all law enforcement agencies utilize a standard and consistent response system.

She has served on multiple Advisory Boards, led Webinars, and spoken at industry conferences.

She has been a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) since 2007, a Member of the Business Continuity Institute since 2008, and a Certified Senior Lead Implementer & Instructor of ISO 22301 – the global Business Continuity Standard.

Amal is also an active member of her community, currently serving as a Board Trustee on the Board of Education for the Bedford Central School District in Westchester, NY. In past she served at her school districts’ Board of Education Audit Committee, Budget Advisory Committee, and Community Engagement Committee. She also served as a Board member of the Foundation for Bedford Central School District.

In 2017, Amal published an article in Government CIO Outlook on “The Evolution of Business Continuity”.
